Discover the Art of Hula Hooping with My Beginner Class Embark on an exciting journey with our beginner hula hoop class, where learning the fundamentals becomes an enjoyable experience. This course is designed to enhance your coordination, bolster your core strength, and introduce you to the delightful world of hoop dance. Hoop dancing transcends mere physical exercise; it’s a vibrant art form that fuels creativity and playfulness. This engaging activity improves coordination, flexibility, core stability, and balance, all while welcoming you into one of the most colourful and supportive communities. Course Format: The beginner module comprises six weekly sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours, held on Saturdays at 1:30 PM. Classes include an hour of instruction and an optional 30-minute cool-off and flow jam in the beautiful studio at Dans Dansen in Amsterdam. With a maximum of 12 participants, you’ll receive personalized attention, while a minimum of 7 is required to begin. If you miss a class, no worries! You can review the recap and practice on your own or as a group, with extra assistance available during the 30-minute cool-off. Course Dates: - January 18th, January 25th, February 1st, February 8th, February 15th, February 22nd - All sessions run on Saturday, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Preparation for Class: - Hoops will be provided. - No prior knowledge or preparation is needed. - We will include warm-up exercises to enhance flexibility. - Please wear leggings or comfortable clothing, and prefer to go barefoot if it suits you. - While hooping is not overly strenuous, be prepared to sweat initially. Please bring a towel. - Bring water for hydration, with tea and coffee available in the common area. Indicative Session Plan: Introduction to Dance & Waist Hooping 1. Lift-ups and Breaks 2. Weaves & Floats 3. Chest to Waist Transitions 4. Dance & Combos 5. Isolations & Combos This plan is flexible and will adapt according to the group's skill levels.
